  • The Open 232 is a balanced crossover platform that handles inshore days and offshore trips while remaining family friendly
  • Its generous beam and thoughtful layout maximize space for multiple anglers or a full day on the water
  • SportTech composite construction and the SportLink electronics suite deliver a strong ride with integrated easy to use control across both fishing and cruising

The Open 232 sits right in the middle of the lineup as one of the most balanced and versatile center consoles Sportsman builds. It’s designed to handle a wide range of use, from inshore fishing and sandbar days to running offshore when conditions line up, all within a platform that remains easy to manage and trailer.

At 23 feet 4 inches in length with an 8 foot 6 inch beam, the Open 232 carries a wide, stable footprint that gives you confidence moving throughout the boat, whether you’re fishing multiple anglers or loading up the family for a day on the water. That beam translates directly into usable space and comfort, making the boat feel larger than its size suggests.

With a 16 inch draft, the boat is still shallow enough to work tighter water, but where it really starts to stand out is in its range and capability. A 116 gallon fuel capacity, with 106 gallons usable, gives the Open 232 the ability to run farther, stay out longer and expand beyond the typical limits of a boat in this size class, opening the door for nearshore and offshore trips when conditions allow.

That capability is backed by the hull design, where a 20 degree deadrise at the transom delivers a noticeably softer ride compared to smaller inshore-focused boats. This allows the 232 to handle chop and open water with more confidence while still maintaining stability at rest and efficiency while cruising, making it a strong crossover platform between inshore and offshore use. Performance reflects that balance, with speeds exceeding 50 mph and efficient cruising in the 30–40 mph range depending on how the boat is run.

That performance starts with how the boat is built, and every Open 232 is constructed using Sportsman’s SportTech® advanced fabrication approach. Built with 100 percent composite construction and a fully integrated fiberglass stringer system, the structure is consistent, strong and designed to hold up over time in the same environments the boat is built to perform in. The full fiberglass stringer system creates a rigid foundation that helps absorb impact and distribute energy throughout the hull, delivering a solid, controlled ride across varying conditions.

At the helm, the Open 232 integrates the SportLink® electronics system, connecting Garmin electronics, digital switching and onboard systems into a single interface. This keeps the dash clean while giving you full control and visibility, with navigation, system monitoring and key functions all centralized into an intuitive and easy-to-use layout.

The layout is where the Open 232 really separates itself, as it’s designed to balance both fishing and comfort without compromise. The bow functions as a comfortable seating area with the ability to convert into a sunpad for cruising and sandbar use, while still maintaining enough space and access to work as a casting area when needed. In the cockpit, a large livewell, rod storage and open deck space support serious fishing, while features like an integrated swim platform, ladder and onboard head add comfort and usability for longer days on the water.

Everything about the Open 232 is designed to do more than one thing well, combining shallow water capability, offshore performance and a layout that supports both fishing and family use. It’s a platform that gives you the flexibility to adapt to the day rather than being limited by the boat.
