The Open 262 expands offshore capability while maintaining the versatility and comfort that define the Open Series. Learn how the Open 262 combines SportTech® construction, SportLink® integration and a balanced layout for fishing, cruising and family boating.

The Open 262 continues the progression deeper into offshore capability while still maintaining the versatility and usability that define the Open Series. As the platform grows, the Open 262 begins to feel noticeably larger both in ride quality and onboard space, giving owners more confidence offshore while still remaining manageable enough for a wide range of boating lifestyles.
At 26 feet 6 inches in length with a 9 foot 3 inch beam, the Open 262 carries a larger overall footprint that creates more room throughout the boat for passengers, gear and fishing functionality. That added space becomes especially noticeable in the cockpit and bow seating areas, where the layout balances fishability and comfort without sacrificing either side of the experience.
With a 20 inch draft, the Open 262 still maintains relatively shallow water capability for its size, but this model is clearly designed with offshore performance in mind. A 160 gallon fuel capacity, with approximately 146 gallons usable, gives the Open 262 the range to comfortably extend offshore runs while maintaining the flexibility for longer days on the water.
That offshore capability is backed by the hull design. With a 21 degree deadrise at the transom, the Open 262 delivers a soft and confident ride through rougher water while still maintaining stability and efficiency throughout the day. As conditions begin to deteriorate offshore, the added size and weight of the platform become increasingly noticeable in how the boat handles larger chop and changing sea conditions.
Performance reflects that balance between size and capability. The Open 262 is capable of reaching speeds into the 50 mph range while maintaining efficient cruising speeds around the low-to-mid 30 mph range depending on power configuration and conditions. That combination allows owners to cover distance comfortably while still maintaining strong overall efficiency for a boat in this class.
That performance starts with how the Open 262 is built. Every Open 262 is constructed using Sportsman’s SportTech® advanced fabrication approach, built with 100 percent composite construction and a fully integrated fiberglass stringer system. With no wood in the build, the structure is designed for long-term durability and consistency in demanding marine environments.
The full fiberglass stringer system creates a rigid and stable foundation beneath the hull, helping absorb impact and distribute loads more evenly throughout the structure. As boats increase in size and capability, hull rigidity becomes increasingly important in maintaining ride quality and long-term structural integrity offshore.
At the helm, the Open 262 integrates the SportLink® electronics system, connecting Garmin electronics, digital switching and onboard systems into one centralized interface. Navigation, sonar, engine data and system controls are all easily accessible through the Garmin multifunction display (MFD), helping simplify operation while keeping the helm clean and organized.
The layout is where the Open 262 continues to separate itself as a true crossover platform between serious fishing and family comfort. Up front, the bow seating area offers expansive seating with the ability to convert into a large lounge or dining area using the removable table and filler cushions. In the cockpit, features like the livewell, in-deck fish boxes, rod holders and open workspace support offshore fishing while still maintaining comfortable passenger movement throughout the boat.
Features like the integrated swim platform, console head compartment, rear seating and leaning post storage continue adding to the versatility of the Open 262, making it equally capable for sandbar trips, cruising and offshore fishing.
Everything about the Open 262 is designed to bridge the gap between comfort and capability. It has the offshore range and ride quality to confidently push farther from land while still delivering the versatility, fishability and family-friendly layout that make the Open Series such a well-rounded platform.
