Tide To Table began as a simple idea rooted in time on the water and meals shared afterward, and season one brought that vision to life through seven thoughtfully crafted episodes. From fishing and cooking to storytelling and design, this behind-the-scenes look shares how the series came together, how it performed early on, and why it was built to grow long after launch alongside the full Tide To Table cookbook.

  • Authentic storytelling and real moments drive Tide To Table rather than a rigid plan
  • The cookbook and printable recipes extend the series by blending design and usability with content
  • A long term strategy focuses on longevity and cross platform growth to keep delivering value

Before I dive into the recap of what an amazing adventure it was to create such an awesome series and take a deep look into how well it's done I want to share our latest asset. We've combined all of our cookbook pages into one easily downloaded PDF for you to view. Additionally, there's a second PDF that will contain printable pages for each recipe so you can print one per for each recipe to easily stash away in your kitchen for quick refreshers.

P.S. We've discussed converting this design into a beautiful coffee table style cookbook for you to keep at home and show off to guests. Stay tuned as we work on that next.

When Tide To Table first started taking shape, it wasn’t built around a rigid formula or a checklist of deliverables. The idea came from something much simpler. Spending time on the water, bringing home a fresh catch, and turning it into a meal worth sharing.

Season one became an opportunity to slow things down and tell stories that felt familiar to anyone who enjoys fishing, cooking, and coastal life. Looking back now, with the full season complete and the cookbook finally finished, it’s rewarding to see how all those small moments came together into something much bigger.

The Team Behind the Series

Tide To Table worked because of the people involved. This series was built by a small, highly collaborative crew where everyone played multiple roles and every contribution mattered.

From the hosts who were just as comfortable on the water as they were at the table, to the captains helping us make the most of tight production windows, to the creatives behind the camera and in post-production, the process was rooted in trust. There were no traditional scripts guiding the conversations. Instead, the recipes and locations shaped each episode naturally.

That flexibility allowed the series to feel authentic and unforced, which was always the goal. It's for this reason some episodes are short and some are lengthy, we chose to allow natural conversation and moments to drive the show and did not limit it because the characters (hosts) of the show were the people we wanted our audience to relate to. It took the idea of a standard cooking show and transformed it into what I believe is one of the best cooking shows you can find. It's about more than the recipe.

How the Series Performed Early On

While Tide To Table was never designed to be judged solely by short-term numbers, the early response confirmed we were headed in the right direction.

In the first eight weeks after launch, the series drove over 4,300 website views and more than 10,000 additional on-site actions as viewers explored recipes, blogs, and supporting content. On YouTube, the episodes generated over 48,000 impressions, more than 2,300 views, and continued to build watch time as new episodes were released. Social content across Instagram and Facebook added tens of thousands of additional views and meaningful engagement.

More importantly, viewers weren’t just watching a single video and leaving. They were clicking deeper, downloading recipes, and spending time with the content.

Thinking Long Term From the Start

From the beginning, Tide To Table was created with longevity in mind. This wasn’t content meant to peak in its first week and fade away. It was designed to grow over time.

As search behavior continues to evolve, more people are discovering content through everyday lifestyle questions. How to clean a fish. How to cook oysters. How to build a Lowcountry boil at home. By focusing on these topics, the series meets people where they already are, often before boating is even part of the conversation.

Extended scenes play an important role in this approach. These longer instructional cuts allow us to go deeper on highly searched topics while naturally guiding viewers back to the full episodes and the broader collection of content.

Producing Season One

From a producer’s standpoint, this project was both challenging and incredibly fulfilling. Post-production alone stretched across several months as episodes were edited, audio was refined, color was graded, and every visual element was brought into alignment.

Nothing was treated as a one-off asset. Episodes, thumbnails, blogs, extended scenes, and cookbook pages all needed to feel connected. Seeing that full ecosystem come together reinforced something I believe strongly in: the best content works hardest when everything supports everything else.

The Cookbook: Where It All Comes Together

One of the most rewarding parts of season one has been watching the cookbook take shape. The photography, layout, typography, and custom icons were designed to feel like a natural extension of the series, not an afterthought.

These pages aren’t just recipes. They’re a way for viewers to take Tide To Table off the screen and into their own kitchens. Seeing the finished cookbook alongside the episodes, short-form content, and blogs is a reminder of how powerful thoughtful design and storytelling can be when they’re built together from the start.

Looking Ahead

Season one of Tide To Table laid the foundation. It proved the concept, established a repeatable workflow, and created a library of content that will continue to grow in value over time.

Most importantly, it created something that feels genuine. A series rooted in real moments, real food, and a lifestyle many of us already love.

If you’ve watched an episode, cooked a recipe, or downloaded the cookbook, thank you. And if this is your first introduction to Tide To Table, there’s a full season waiting for you.
