At Sportsman Boats, we’ve partnered with Seakeeper to deliver maximum comfort in rough waters. Below, you’ll find details on the Seakeeper models available for our boats. We’ve taken this integration to the next level by designing in a dedicated Seakeeper Pod on models where it’s offered. Please note that while this is a designed-in feature, it is not included as a standard option on any model.
Inside the Seakeeper, a vacuum-enclosed sphere, a steel flywheel spins at speeds up to 9,750 rpm. When the boat starts to roll, the Seakeeper tilts, creating powerful gyroscopic torque to port and starboard that counteracts the boat's tilt and roll. Listed below are some of the main features that allow the Seakeeper to operate effectively.
1 - Vacuum Encapsulation
The vacuum enclosure allows the Seakeeper to spin the flywheel three times faster, reduce weight by two-thirds and cut power requirements in half. It also protects the system from the harsh marine environment.
2 - Active Control
The system uses a braking mechanism and smart active control technology to gauge sea conditions and react instantly. You do not need to adjust any settings — the Seakeeper operates fully autonomously.
3 - Cooling System
As heat builds inside the vacuum-enclosed sphere, the Seakeeper uses a proprietary closed-loop cooling system that removes heat through a glycol and seawater combination.
The new dash display lets you control your Seakeeper with just the push of a button. Using the dedicated display is simple and easy but it also integrates into your Garmin MFD through the OneHelm app. This will also show important information for maintenance, service, hours and much more.
