  • Today's buyers are informed, intentional and ready.
  • An indoor, customer focused environment lets buyers evaluate boats without rush and spend meaningful time with models.
  • Buyers arrive prepared for the season and rely on dealer support to move from interest to ownership.

Each year, the Miami International Boat Show gives us a clear snapshot of where the boating market is headed. In 2026, one thing stood out above everything else:

Today’s customer is more informed, more intentional, and more ready than ever before.

For Sportsman Boats, our expanded presence inside the Miami Beach Convention Center created the ideal environment to connect with these buyers in a meaningful way — and the conversations we had throughout the week reinforced just how much the modern boat-buying journey has evolved. The Miami Show is the Super Bowl of Boat Shows and ironically happens around the Superbowl timeframe every year. This is where manufacturers including ourselves introduce the latest greatest that we have to offer.

An Indoor Experience Built Around the Customer

Being inside the convention center allowed customers to experience our boats the way they’re meant to be evaluated — without the rush and distraction that can sometimes come with outdoor displays. While the attendance was similar to what we saw last year at this show, the quality and time spent with our customers was incredible.

Families and anglers were able to:

• Spend real time aboard the models they were considering

• Compare layouts side-by-side

• Ask detailed, thoughtful questions

• Focus on the fit, finish, and standards that matter long-term

What we saw repeatedly was customers arriving with purpose. Many had already researched models, explored build options online, and were using the show to validate their decision.

That’s exactly the kind of buying environment we want to support.

Educated Buyers Planning Their Season

Attendance was strong throughout the week, but the most encouraging trend was the quality of engagement. We met countless boaters who came to Miami with a clear goal: find the right boat and be ready for the upcoming season.

Common themes we heard on the show floor:

• “We’ve been researching this for months.”

• “Comparing like models and here to get a feel for it in person”

• “We built this model online already.”

• “We want to be on the water this spring.”

• “We’re ready to move once we see it in person.”

This level of preparation leads to better conversations and, ultimately, better ownership experiences. When customers step aboard already understanding the brand and the product, the process becomes far more productive and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Supporting Customers Through the Decision Process

Boat shows are ultimately about confidence — giving buyers the information and experience they need to move forward comfortably. We saw a renewed interest in all size boats not just smaller boats 26’ and under but all the way up to and including our new Open 402.

Throughout the week, our team focused on:

• Answering detailed product questions

• Helping customers compare models honestly

• Walking through build and option decision

• Connecting buyers with their local dealers for next steps

Our dealer partners did an outstanding job supporting these conversations and ensuring customers had clear paths forward after the show. Their preparation and professionalism helped create a seamless experience from first walkthrough to follow-up planning.

Momentum Heading Into the 2026 Season

As we leave Miami, the outlook for the season ahead is strong. The buyers we met weren’t just browsing — they were planning.

We’re seeing:

• Families preparing earlier for the boating season

• Buyers doing deeper research before shows

• More decisive timelines once the right boat is found

• Continued demand for quality, transparency, and dealer support

For Sportsman Boats, that’s exactly the direction we want to see the market moving.

Thank You to the Boating Community

Events like the Miami International Boat Show are ultimately about the boating community — the families, anglers, and first-time buyers who trust us to be part of their time on the water.

To everyone who stepped into the booth, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their plans for the season ahead — thank you. This leaves us with great optimism for the year ahead and the many opportunities to meet with and discuss our boats with each and every one of you!

And to our dealer partners who worked tirelessly throughout the week to support those customers, your effort and professionalism continue to make a difference.

We’re excited about the momentum coming out of Miami and even more excited to help these customers get on the water in the months ahead. If we missed you at this show, please be sure to visit your local dealer or the next show closest to you! We will see you on the water.
