Love to fish and had been looking for that one boat that I could use near shore and off shore and also be used on lakes as well. Looked at several different boats in the 22 foot range but kept coming back to the Sportsman Master 227. It was in my opinion the perfect match for what I was looking for from the live wells, wide gunnel, electronics, storage, fuel capacity and handling. More importantly Hanckel Marine has provided excellent service every time.

Sportsman boats are top notch with a very innovative design. From the various options with the Simrad systems to the optional misters on the T-top, they have everything you could ever want on a bay boat.

Decided to sell some Hotrods and get a boat to go fishing with my 17 year daughter we looked at a lot of boats and for the money the platinum 227 had features others didn't . I don't fish but was told by many to look at sportsman and see lots on my drives during the weekends . Every veteran fisherman that has been on my boat loves the handling and layout . Since I have never owned a boat I take their word. Lines on boat are very slick and have no issues. Would hightly recommend looking at one.

I recently purchased the 251 Sportsman with twin 150 HP Outboard Yamahas. I have owned many previous boats. This boat has exceptional quality in both design and manufacturing. The detailing is unbelievable in every aspect. The electronics are a very high caliber as is the operation of the vessel.

All of the features you could want in a boat. A great combination of comfort and function. The boat is well configures for fishing, diving or pleasure cruising. It rides and handles great even in sloppy conditions. It is very responsive and maneuverable.

In my 40 years operating fishing boats, I have found that the hull on my new Sportsman is superior to any on the market. The boat is a dry boat and handles heavy seas as well as a much larger boat. The new twin 150 Yamahas provide excellent mileage and has extra power for the boat size.

I was looking for an inshore/near shore fishing boat that doubled for recreation island hoping and swimming with family and friends. I compared every bay boat and deeper V boat on the market in 22 - 26 foot range. Sportsman by far has most features and comfort at much more competitive price. The Sportsman is well built with both fishing and leisure in mind. I highly recommend!
