I have owned two Sportsman's, a 207 bay boat and 247 Bay Boat. The quality is excellnt and the ride is more than excellent. It's great for fishing in skinny water and the ride and stability allows you to venture offshore for a different kind of fishing. The ride is also very dry and comfortable. I would highly recommend a Sportsman.

It has many fishing advantages and it is easy for an old man to launch operate and enjoy. The electronics package is first class and is fit into the dash perfectly. I looked at a lot of boats and shopped around for almost 6 months. I had the option to go with other well know quality boat builders Decided to go with the Sportsman 247 because of the available room for storage and access to under deck equipment. No one has the accessibility to the valve and pumps like Sportsman. I also liked the quality of the workmanship, especially the electronics. I also had good response out of my dealer. They were easy to communicate with. Would not change anything.

A great choice for fishing a variety of areas including skinny water, dock and offshore spots. The combination of power pole and trolling motor make it much easier to fish the exact location you choose. The boat has a very solid feel that runs dry even in an offshore chop. The live wells are conveniently positioned for all anglers and large enough to keep enough bail for longest fishing day. With kids in the mix the boat has adequate power to pull tubes, water skiers, and wakeboards.

Moved up this year from a 227 to a 247 and bigger is better. Never did I think you could us a 24' boat with a 300 in the Carolina creeks to catch bait shrimp, keep 4 quarts alive, wash up with fresh water washdown and get on to fishing. With a jack plate we go as skinny as any other smaller bay boat. Yet when we cruise to the drop we are riding in the comfort a a bigger boat. The 247 is really a fine choice for coastal fishing. The changes the the Sportsman make every year just make it better.
