We love everything about our new Sportsman Open 232. The handling and ride in rough conditions in the Chesapeake Bay, the seating and room, the comfortable seat cushions, storage space, and the Simrad stereo. The Sportsman 211 is a great near shore boat (40 miles) and has plenty of fuel for a day of fishing. I have upgraded to the 232 Open for more fuel capacity. I live in north Florida where it is a 70 mile trip out to the ledges to fish for tuna and dolphin. The boat is a dry ride in moderate seas (3-4'). The draft on the 211 is 12" and the 232 is 14" allowing you to get in shallow if you still want to fish back water. Recommend a power pole if fishing the shallows. Outstanding Boat for the $.

After deciding on boating needs we looked at several similar style boats. The Sportsman boats were a wise choice with no hassles over choosing options. All the options that you need come on the boat. What works best was already picked out and installed on the boat. This boat can handle rough water situations and performs better than I ever thought. The Yamaha outboard delivers on performance and efficiency. I was surprised on just how far I can travel and troll without refueling concerns.

Well with about 30 hours on my 232 open, I really have no complaints. Boat has been solid and for a modified v hull rides very well. Been in 3-5 foot seas and was able to cruise at 20mph. Very fuel efficient boat, with the 200 I can cruise 25 miles out, troll for 8 hours, then come home all with only burning 25 gallons (4 guys & loaded to the gills). The tall gunnales are great for small kids, we have a toddler and dont have to worry about him climbing out. Very satisfied so far!

Great boat! Love the layout and the ability to fold down the rear seat or remove it all together. Excellent access to the bilge and plenty of storage. Best design hands down.
