This boat and manufacturer is one that I researched for over a year before I made a purchase. When the 282TE came out, I knew that was the perfect fit for me. This boat has not failed to deliver. I had had her out in all conditions and she has responded beautifully. She takes a heavy sea well. Fuel economy is very impressive. Electronics have performed as well. I love the auto-pilot and the depth finders have allowed me to find excellent bottom. Twin engines make maneuvering easy.

The 282 TE handles the rough water very well and comfortably. The Yamahas perform well and are fuel efficient. We love the coffin box seating. It's like sitting in your EZ chair at home. The fit and finishes of the boat are very good. Love the dark blue sides.

Coming out of a 32' boat from another brand, I was looking for a great handling boat with good fit and finish in the 28 foot class. I found it in the 282 Sportsman. The twin 200 Yamaha are fast out of the hole, run upwards of 50MPH and I cruise at better than 3mpg. Wow, that is a huge lift from what I used to spend on fuel heading 30 plus miles offshore on a regular basis. if you are looking for an open fisherman with great features and construction that won't break the bank, take a look at the Sportsman.

I have the 28ft center console with twin digital 200 hp little noise compared to twin 250 but 200 digitals move the boat really nice and fuel consumption is great. Also motors are lighter than 250 hp the bottom line is the Boat a great value and will reccomend Sportsman to Friends and Family

We have owned other 23 foot boats and the Sportsmans 23 Open is perfect for us. It handles perfect in all conditions of the ocean and rivers, it is easy to dock, and is stable at a drift. The location of the fish well is great and forward storage is well designed. The helm is big enough to use the head and location of switches and Electronics is well positioned. The Platinum package is a must.
