Darrell proud on his tower ready to fish. This photo was taken from Lea Island, NC in August 2018 shortly after we learned of his Myelofibrosis diagnosis.
My dad, Darrell, LIVED on the water. A surfer for most of his life, fishing was always near and dear to him as well-especially in his later years. Last August, his Myelofibrosis (a rare form of Leukemia) took his fishing and boat time away and sadly, he left us earthside in late January to churn the waters of life without him. Gone at a young 68, Darrell will always be remembered as an avid fisherman, boat lover, and loyalist to our beautiful NC coast and waterways. We miss him dearly but know he’s out there catching the best fish and beaming.
