The Sportsman Boats Heritage 229 is a fair-priced, family-friendly 22-footer built out of the Palmetto State. The 229 is the first boat in the Heritage series, with two other models expected soon. Plenty of features make up this clean-looking offshore center console.

One unique feature most 22-foot center consoles don’t have is called a Total Access Hatch. Located at the stern, the hatch is wide enough to fit two people and opens to allow for easy access and maintenance to all boat systems.

At the console, there’s a loaded helm and lockable compartment for a marine head. The bow includes storage compartments for an anchor, a castnet, and another compartment for tackle and gear. On top of the bow storage, there are seat cushions with backrests for guests.

Other features include rear bench seating, leaning post, two livebait wells, and a dive ladder. Rigged with a 250-hp outboard, the Heritage 229 went 29 mph at 3,500 RPM burning 8 GPH, according to performance reports. Base price with Yamaha 250 and T-top is $52,103.
