2021 Neptune Award Announcement - Behind The Glass Brings Home A Neptune

The 2021 Neptune Award Winners have been announced and this year is another big year for Sportsman as we have brought home yet another Neptune, thanks to our continued effort and support in growing our marketing team and initiatives.

Summerville, SC – February 14, 2022 – The Marine Marketers of America (MMA), announced the recipients of the 2021 Neptune Awards for excellence in Marine Marketing. This kicks off the biggest week in the marine industry which includes the Miami International Boat Show. The Neptune Awards, now in its 14th year, honors creative concepts, campaigns and initiatives across all sectors of the marine industry. This year it featured 22 categories and more than 160 entries. This means the MMA had more competition than ever before across the board.

We are extremely honored and humbled to announce that we have brought home our 4th Neptune Award. As the Neptune winner for the Video Series category with the entry of Sportsman’s “Behind The Glass.” This series is a deep dive into the manufacturing process of the industry’s fastest growing line of center console boats. The goal of “Behind The Glass,” was to create a transparent and innovative series that would give viewers more information than they’d ever receive on a plant tour. Mandates and cautionary guidelines for plant tours in our facility have led to a halt on factory tours to help maintain the safety of our employees. Due to this, people were not getting to see the processes behind our manufacturing any longer, until now.

Behind The Glass brings boat building into a new light and has broken the mold of traditional long form plant tours. With a cinematic documentary style series, we were able to break down the boat building process with great information and beautiful visuals. This gave viewers an in-depth look into how boats are made with a new episode each week. The process continued to advance our customers product knowledge and highlight Sportsman as the transparent company who gives the customer all the information, they need to decide whether our brand is the right brand for them.

We are happy to be bringing the Neptune home for the second year in a row and the fourth win overall. In 2018 Sportsman took the Neptune for Best Website and the website did it again in 2020 but that time also took the King Neptune. This year we expanded our scope and ventured into new categories with our growing media creation. We’d like to thank the MMA for hosting such a fun, yet competitive competition. The Neptune Awards is something the entire marine industry looks forward to each year and is one of the key elements in the acceleration of Marine Marketing initiatives. Lastly, we’d also like to thank the entire staff here at Sportsman for their hospitality and eagerness to be a part of this series. This award is not only for our marketing team but the entire team as it would not have been possible without everyone’s participation.

We’re continuing to set new bars here at Sportsman. From product design to continuous improvement and all the way down to our marketing and sales team pushing the brand to new heights. Winning an award like this is motivation to keep doing what we are doing and finding ways to improve every day.
